Meet Erin Jackson, LPC

Background and Education

Erin was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State Behrend in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She was also a four-year varsity soccer player for the Lions, an experience that fostered hard work, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Erin has worked in a variety of drug and alcohol treatment settings, including outpatient and inpatient programs, medication-assisted treatment, and sober living facilities, in Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and Tennessee. After returning to the Pittsburgh area, she pursued her Master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lock Haven University, graduating in 2023. Erin completed her internship and continued her employment after graudation providing trauma-focused therapy, specializing in domestic violence and sexual assault.

Experience and Clinical Approach

Erin brings a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to her work and is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals impacted by trauma, PTSD, substance use, and complex life stressors. Erin values collaboration and believes therapy is most effective when clients feel empowered and supported throughout the therapeutic process. She also incorporates a sense of humor when appropriate, helping clients feel more at ease and fostering connection while navigating challenging topics.

She utilizes evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and is actively working toward training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Erin tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs and pace, helping individuals build coping skills, process traumatic experiences, and move toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change.

Ideal Client and Accepted Insurance

Erin works with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance use, as well as those navigating difficult life transitions and relationship stressors. She provides a safe, empowering space for clients to process their experiences and reconnect with a sense of control and confidence.

Erin is currently in network with Highmark and Optum/United and is in the credentialing process with other major commercial insurances as well as PA Medicare and Medicaid.
